For a Stamp Jeweler this will become the “go to tool”.   A once in a lifetime purchase that makes the whole process a pleasure. The hammer was designed by Kieu Pham Gray, Co-Owner of The Urban Beader, in association with Fretz Designs.  The weight of the hammer and the design make it easy to see the stamp end and make each blow precise and positive.

    Amazing hammer

Posted by Miriam Kaufman on 29th Jun 2018

This just arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to try it out. The video is right, you don't have to "hammer" at all, just let it drop. There is a lot of debate out there about sandbag/no sandbag, stump/workbench--with this hammer, it really doesn't matter. I put my steel block on a towel on my bench and it worked great. I never had to repeat a blow and minimal bounce. This hammer is very expensive, especially with the shipping, California + Canadian taxes, exchange rate, but it was worth it. One of those tools I'll have forever!

    Best Hammer Ever!

I absolutely love this hammer!! Since it does not shed metal like the brass hammer, I don't have to worry about the filings getting embedded in my polishing cloths. The heavy weight needs less strikes so better impressions are the result. The flat surface (which doesn't get strangely pitted like brass) results in even impressions. I just love it!!

    Fretz meets Gray

This is such a beautifully designed hammer with it's paduak wood handle and hardened steel head that it's really a work of art to visually look at with the elegant Kieu Pham Gray monogram. Such a well balanced hammer for any stamper. The well precision weight balanced head gives you a clear & even impression with each strike. I'm so happy that this was designed. This is exactly what stamping artist have been waiting for. Not only is it sexy but it's sophisticated too. I'm throwing out all my hammers and only using this one!

    Cadillac Hammer!

Posted by Krista Monastiero on 21st Nov 2015

I was on the fence about this for 2 reasons, it looks different than anything Ive ever used and the price. Having it in my hands now I would easily pay double. It was actually a video clip I saw that convinced me to buy and im so glad it did! I've been having lots of elbow and shoulder pain lately, I couldn't feel a single thing with this hammer it is perfectly balanced and the shorter handle makes a huge difference. The craftsmanship and design are unsurpassed. It has such a perfect dead blow that gives the perfect impression consistenly each and every time, even my cheap font sets look better and more consistent when stamped with this hammer, it's definitely a match made in heaven with the UB don't sets. I am so glad I took the leap and purchased the hammer. Best of all, I have a 3 year old and 6 month old and stamp mostly at night and this hammer is MUCH quieter than the brass hammer I had been using. I can see this hammer paying for itself in no time with the amount im going to save from double impressions and mis-stampings. I would dare to say this may be the best purchase I've made this far.

I wish I had this hammer 4 years ago.

I'm going to make this easy... buy this hammer. You may not know that you need it, but you do. Not only will it save you money in the long run (say goodbye to double stamping & uneven impressions) but your wrist/elbows/shoulders will love you for it. No force needed, the hammer is perfectly balanced and you use it's weight to make the impression, instead of putting force into into a swing. After having this hammer, I couldn't live without it.. it is my #1 go to tool for every single font, design stamp, and it works great on EVERY type of metal. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for the best tool purchase i've ever made.

    Love this!

You can tell a lot of love and care went into designing this hammer. It is perfectly weighted, and is gorgeous to look at too! This makes short work of all my large design stamps and produces a nice even impression with very little effort. I am very happy with this purchase. :)
